At the age of 96, Queen Elizabeth II of Britain passes away “peacefully” at Balmoral Castle on September 8, 2022.
For seven unbroken decades, the Queen presided. With the longest reign of any British monarch, she gracefully weathered changes in her nation’s post-imperial society as well as a series of difficulties brought on by the errors and romantic decisions of her successors.
Queen Elizabeth II ruled over 16 countries and was crowned in seven of them. After replacing her father King George VI in 1952, she ascended to the throne at the age of 32.

According to protocol, during operation “London Bridge,” the queen’s private secretary was to call the Prime Minister and inform them that “London Bridge is down,” after which the UK’s PM was to make an announcement. According to operating regulations, the information was then to be shared with the 30 other commonwealth members and the 15 governments for whom the queen serves as the head of state.
The fact that the Queen passed away in Scotland rather than England added complicated protocols to her funeral, which have been called “Operation Unicorn.”
The Absolute Monarch?
The royal family is prepared for some significant adjustments in the royal titles as they grieve the Queen’s passing. While Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, will be given the title of Queen Consort as her husband, Prince Charles, is crowned as king, Prince Charles will continue to rule as King of England until the Queen dies in February 2022.
The new official titles for Kate Middleton, Prince William, and Camilla Parker Bowles are among the several modifications to the line of succession. Archie and Lilibet, the kids of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, may also be considering promotions within the royal family.
Prince Charles, who is now King Charles, will be the oldest monarch to ever ascend to the throne at the age of 73. The precise dates for the coronation and Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral have not been made public, but there will be a ceremony to crown her in the near future.
In the past, King Charles I of England was an unpopular monarch. His reign was marked by disputes and battles, and it came to an end when he was beheaded in 1649. However, King Charles II had a much better reputation as a leader. As a result of his love of gatherings, he became known as the “Merry Monarch.” The monarch, however, had no legitimate children to pass on his succession but had 12 illegitimate children from various mistresses. George VII is said to have been a strong contender. The monarch had the option of choosing the name George VII to pay homage to his grandpa King George VI and great-grandfather King George V, but he chose to keep his original name. In addition to choosing her own name, Queen Elizabeth had the option of selecting her royal name.
